Every 9 seconds someone in the United States sustains a Brain Injury
The Strong Will.
William grew up as an avid athlete and even trained in the Olympic Training Center for Tae Kwon Do. He was a very successful business executive for Wells Fargo before his life took an unexpected turn on March 19,2016 when he suffered a Traumatic Brain Injury. He is now the hero to his little Princess Vayla Orellana and the driving engine to his fiance Tara Banks. His recovery has not been easy and has gone frontwards, backwards and sideways along the way. But in the darkest valleys he maintains strength and has developed a fortitude not to be compared. William continues to make small strides in the right direction even today. His ultimate goal is to not only walk, talk and think clearly, but to ride his bike again and feel the weight of his worries lift off his shoulders with the wind. The days are long, but the years are short.
Founder and Managing Director
Growing up in the medical field Tara stood sideline to her parents as they structured treatment plans for patients who were being referred to their outpatient Rehabilitation center. She interviewed, documented, and evaluated patients and their injuries. She moved to Miami, Fl to commence her undergraduate studies where she graduated with a Bachelor in Science, which propelled her forward to to finding and facilitating partnerships that have led to highly successful business models used inside and outside of medicine. Engaged to Strong Will, Tara has lived and advocated the reality of the three words Traumatic Brain Injury since the day of Will's accident. From bedside, the ICU, Tara wasted no time integrating herself into the constantly changing teams of nurses, neurosurgeons, neurologists to provide direct care to her fiance as a medical student apprenticeship. She has experienced caring for patients in the critical care setting, to intermediate and acute care living facilities. Her exposure growing up in the medical field has allowed her to build lasting relationships between patients, physicians, chief officers, and even those who develop the technology behind the scenes. Armed with education in Science and Business, coupled with day to day experiences she has witnessed what she refers to as 'man's magic'. She will release her first book in 2020, sharing her observations in detail observing a newborn healthy brain organize, aside an injured brain reorganize; while studying the brain, from the outside in, after injury. So intrigued by her findings she has built more than just her lifestyle, but a true passion for this amazing mechanism we know as our control center. Tara is finishing her graduate studies to become a physician in neuromedicine so she can study the brain from the inside out and entirely. She is committed to sharing her resources, knowledge, successes, and failures in hopes it can help others' goals and milestones become the tiniest bit more attainable along their very own journey.
